Texas floods kill 51, 27 girls still missing from summer camp
At least 51 people have died in Texas following sudden flash floods that struck the central part of the state late last week. Among the dead are 15 children. Twenty-seven girls from a summer camp remain missing.
The floods, centred around Kerr County, were triggered by intense rainfall between Thursday evening and Friday morning. According to The Washington Post, the area received 25–38 centimetres of rain within a few hours, equivalent to four months’ worth of rainfall.
