Carlos Alcaraz Reveals He Still Lives With His Mom

Wimbledon Round 16 begins on July 6 with No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz trying to secure his third consecutive title. 

Alcaraz faces No. 14 seed Russian Andrey Rublev.

Last Word on Sports is predicting Alcaraz wins in the matchup. But if it doesn't go his way, the Spanish star has a loving family to go home to.

Carlos lives in El Palmar, Murcia, Spain, with his parents, Carlos Alcaraz González and Virginia Garfia Escandón. 

The family has four boys, Álvaro, Sergio, Ja,ime and Carlos.

Their tight bond is featured in a Netflix docuseries, Carlos Alcaraz: My Way, which highlights Virginia's cooking. 

"There's no food like my mother's anywhere in the world. That's for sure," Carlos says in the series.

Alcaraz began his professional career in 2018 at the age of 15. 

Even though he is frequently on the road for his tennis career, he looks forward to being home with his family and friends. 

After winning Wimbledon in July 2023, he told El Pais that was how he planned to celebrate his victory.

“Honestly, to go back home and be with my family, to be with them again and eat with them,” he told the Spanish newspaper when asked what he wanted to do most. “I miss it. I miss those routines of being in my village and with my friends, being at home, not doing much, you know? Just enjoy having that feeling of being at ease with them and having a few laughs.”

After winning the 2023 Madrid Open, Alcaraz wrote a message for his mother on the camera: “Por ti, Mama” (or “For you, Mom.")

Alcaraz later posted on social media that he couldn't get her a gift, so he hoped she enjoyed the words.
