Indoor pickleball concept to open first central Ohio location
HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH) – A pickleball facility featuring 15 indoor courts will soon open in central Ohio.
Pickleball Kingdom is set to open at 4500 Britton Parkway in Hilliard early next year, according to the company. The new spot will mark the concept's first Columbus-area location and third Ohio facility.
"We're excited to continue our expansion in Ohio with the announcement of our newest club in Hilliard," Pickleball Kingdom founder and CEO Ace Rodrigues said. "With successful clubs already operating in Cincinnati and Centerville, it's exciting to see the momentum growing across the state."
The approximately 36,000-square-foot facility in Hilliard will offer leagues and tournaments, along with professional coaching, youth programs and corporate events.
The announcement of the new location comes after Pickleball Kingdom revealed in December that franchisee Steve Niehoff will bring multiple locations to central Ohio. The Hilliard facility marks the first confirmed Columbus-area establishment.
"We're excited to have Steve Niehoff leading the charge as we launch our newest location in Ohio," Pickleball Kingdom president and chief global officer Rob Streett said. "His proven leadership and passion for the sport make him the ideal partner to help us grow our footprint in the region."
Pickleball Kingdom launched its first location in Chandler, Arizona, in May 2022. After a year of operations, the company decided to expand nationally through franchising. The concept has since awarded over 350 franchises across the country.
