Body found in wooded area of Fairfield County
(WCMH) -- The body of an unknown person was found in a wooded area in Fairfield County Saturday.
According to a Facebook post by the Lancaster Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Maple Street for a well-being check. They found a body in a wooded area nearby.
Lancaster Police are working with the Fairfield County Coroner's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation at the scene to conduct an investigation.
Lancaster Police are asking the public to avoid the area at this time as the investigation continues.
