Much more comfortable fall-like weather to end out August
What We’re Tracking
- Drier and Cooler
- Feeling like Fall this week
- A few showers late this week
A cold front has moved through the area, bringing a noticeable drop in both humidity and temperatures this morning. We're waking up to crisp upper 50s with a light breeze. Some patchy fog may form in the early morning, but it should mix out quickly.
With cooler air settling in behind the front, highs should be in the upper 70s, perfect for the Topeka Food Truck Festival! We’ll see a few clouds along with a slight chance of an isolated shower later tonight, but the better rain chances will remain to our west.
Humidity will drop noticeably. By Monday, highs will only reach the low-to-mid-70s, well below the seasonal average in the upper 80s. Overnight lows will fall into the low-to-mid-50s, and in some spots even the upper 40s, offering up a refreshing “false fall” feel.
A few isolated rain chances will linger into the start of the week. The best chance for showers this upcoming week looks to be towards the back half on Thursday as another cold front pushes across the area dropping temperatures even more into the lower 70s to upper 60s in spots.
