Lady Gaga Performs 'Marry the Night' for the First Time in Years, Gets Emotional at Mayhem Ball in NYC
Lady Gaga brought a major surprise to fans at her Mayhem Ball stop in New York City!
On Saturday night (August 23), the 38-year-old superstar took the stage at Madison Square Garden for the second night of her sold-out run in NYC – and performed Marry the Night live for the first time publicly since 2018.
The stripped-down moment came during Act IV of the show, when Gaga sat at the piano for an acoustic version of her 2011 anthem.
Before starting the song, she addressed the crowd and said, “I don’t think this song could be about any other place,” in reference to her New York City roots.

After the performance, Gaga became emotional at the crowd’s response, and also thanked her longtime vocal coach, who was in attendance.
The career-spanning Mayhem Ball setlist also included classics like “LoveGame,” “Just Dance” and “Bad Romance.”
