Keith Urban Is Reportedly Questioning Whether Divorce From Nicole Kidman Was a 'Huge Mistake'

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are spending their first Christmas without each other, and it looks very different for both of them.

Kidman was spotted on Christmas Eve in Sydney, Australia, looking carefree and happy. The sun glowed on her natural curls as she walked with her daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14. Her pale-yellow sundress hugged her toned figure as she headed into a holiday celebration. (You can see the images here.)

It’s unclear where Urban is spending his Christmas vacation, but insiders are saying he’s handling the split much differently from his ex-wife. After being criticized for performing at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in early December, the 58-year-old country singer is reportedly finding life to be a “lonely existence” right now, per a Woman’s Day magazine source, via the Daily Mail.

“…He’s exhausted, isolated, and looking at a future he never imagined,” the insider continued. “He’s also lost his best friend, Nicole, who was also his greatest supporter in life, and he’s wondering if he’s made a huge mistake.”

On the other hand, Kidman appears to be thriving in her new chapter. Not only will she be one of the hosts for the 2026 Met Gala, but she’s got multiple TV and film projects in the works. When it comes to her divorce, though, her relationship with Urban doesn’t really exist, according to Rob Shuter’s Substack.

“It’s not icy — it’s frozen,” a source told Shuter. “Nicole isn’t ready for a heart-to-heart, and Keith isn’t pushing it. Right now, silence is the most they can agree on.”

The former couple’s only form of communication is “running strictly through lawyers” right now, so it doesn’t appear that they’ve adopted Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s conscious uncoupling strategy. Their lack of contact may have to do with the unconfirmed reports that Urban was having an affair “with another woman.” TMZ claimed in September that there were stories “all over Nashville” that he was involved with someone else.

For now, Kidman and Urban are living much different lives as they start a 2026 journey without each other.
