Stranger Things Star Speaks Out As Thousands Of Fans Sign 'Unseen Footage' Petition
Stranger Things actor Randy Havens is setting the record straight amid claims that fans of the hit show are being deprived of more episodes of the hit series.
After the latest episodes of Stranger Things’ fifth and final season began streaming on Netflix last week, more than 250,000 fans have co-signed a petition calling for “unseen footage” from the show to be released.
The Change.org petition was inspired by a fan theory claiming that there was originally “more to the episodes” that viewers didn’t get to see “either due to Netflix or the team of Stranger Things cutting them”.
In their post, the petition’s creator lamented: “This has been a long 10-years process and this is what we get.
“They must have cut out a lot of scenes from volume 2 and from our loved characters. I believe we as fans should stand up and take the initiative to get the footage and make the decision.”
However, cast member Randy – who has played science teacher and mentor to the central gang Scott Clarke since the show’s inception – is now speaking out on the matter.
Referring to the infamous “Snyder cut” of the 2017 superhero epic Justice League, Randy insisted to his Instagram followers on Sunday night: “There’s no secret Snyder cut of the show.”
“Please don’t believe everything some random ass tells you on the internet,” he added.
HuffPost UK has also contacted Netflix for comment.

Despite the reaction from certain corners of the fan community, Stranger Things’ penultimate drop of episodes received a positive reaction from some critics, including four stars in The Times, Metro, Empire and The Telegraph, who said the sci-fi drama was “on course to give the gang the send-off they deserve”.
Meanwhile, The Guardian and The Standard each gave it a somewhat less glowing three stars, while The Atlantic and Time were among those to share more critical pieces about the latest instalments.
Fans now have just days to wait until the feature-length conclusion of Stranger Things, with the season finale set to premiere on New Year’s Day at around 1am.
