‘Rot in Hell’: Trump delivers harsh New Year greeting to ‘Scumbag’ American governor
There likely will be astute observers of American politics that might make a leap of faith and presume that Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, a radical leftist and open homosexual who has promoted the LGBT lifestyle choices in Colorado to the point officials have violated the constitutional rights of state residents, isn’t going to be on any list of President Donald Trump’s favorites.
Nor is it likely that Colorado is going to suddenly be granted random special privileges by the federal government through programs of the Executive Branch. It might even be in line for investigations.
That’s after the commander-in-chief of the nation’s military, its Executive Branch chief, its president, suggested Polis can “rot in Hell.”
On social media, Trump posted, “God Bless Tina Peters, who is now, for two years out of nine, sitting in a Colorado Maximum Security Prison, at the age of 73, and sick, for the ‘crime’ of trying to stop the massive voter fraud that goes on in her State (where people are leaving in record numbers!). Hard to wish her a Happy New Year, but to the Scumbag Governor, and the disgusting ‘Republican’ (RINO!) DA, who did this to her (nothing happens to the Dems and their phony Mail In Ballot System that makes it impossible for a Republican to win an otherwise very winnable State!). I wish them only the worst. May they rot in Hell. FREE TINA PETERS!”
The fight is over Peters, the former clerk in Mesa County, Colorado, who was convicted in the leftist state and given an extra-judicial scolding by a leftist judge for her efforts to secure the records from that dispute 2020 presidential election.
She was sentenced to nine years on charges alleging she tampered with voting equipment to preserve those records.
Trump already has issued her a full and complete pardon for offenses, but state officials say the election charges fall under the state’s law, and they’ve chosen to ignore Trump.
Trump’s messaging addressed Polis and Mesa County District Attorney Daniel Rubinstein for keeping the grandmother imprisoned on election charges.
Peters’ advocates have pointed out that the state’s Democrat secretary of state, Jena Griswold, was found to have posted hundreds of election system passwords on the Internet, yet was given a free pass.
Peters’ legal team already had asked for the presidential pardon, arguing that the Constitution allows presidents to issue pardons for state convictions.
Polis has claimed, “No president has jurisdiction over state law nor the power to pardon a person for state convictions.”
An appeal of the conviction now is being processed through Colorado’s court system, which is run at its top, the state Supreme Court, by all Democrats on the bench who are so far adrift from the law they tried to ban Trump’s name on the 2024 ballot, until they were scolded by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Peters was convicted of official misconduct, conspiracy and influencing a public service after she allowed access to voting equipment in order to preserve official records because she suspected 2020 election fraud.
Trump earlier announced on social media:
“For years, Democrats ignored Violent and Vicious Crime of all shapes, sizes, colors, and types. Violent Criminals who should have been locked up were allowed to attack again. Democrats were also far too happy to let in the worst from the worst countries so they could rip off American Taxpayers. Democrats only think there is one crime – Not voting for them! Instead of protecting Americans and their Tax Dollars, Democrats chose instead to prosecute anyone they can find that wanted Safe and Secure Elections. Democrats have been relentless in their targeting of TINA PETERS, a Patriot who simply wanted to make sure that our Elections were Fair and Honest Tina is sitting in a Colorado prison for the “crime” of demanding Honest Elections. Today I am granting Tina a full Pardon for her attempts to expose Voter Fraud in the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election!”
Trump previously has described Polis, a Democrat whose hundreds of millions of dollars in personal wealth came to him in several business deals as Internet commerce was just launching years ago, as a “sleazebag.”
