My understanding from this has always been that referees are recording all wasted time on their watch and at the end of the half, whether it shows 2m01s or 2m59s, then the board will go up to show a MINIMUM of 2 minutes.
In which case, why is the expectation always that they will blow up bang on 2 mins?
I've watched a few matches today and the ref has blown up pretty much exactly as the minute ticks over. If they add on 2 mins, they blow up on 2 mins.
