What Fenerbahce need to convince Milan into selling Nkunku after six months

Fenerbahce are reportedly plotting a January move for Milan forward Christopher Nkunku just six months into his Rossoneri tenure, but an official offer has not yet been made and there is still a long way to go before the two parties agree on a valuation according to the latest updates. 

Here is what needs to happen before a transfer comes off. 

Where Fenerbahce stand in negotiations with Milan for Nkunku 

According to various reports over the weekend, Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are keen to add Nkunku to their ranks this window. 

According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday, there has not yet been an official offer from Domenico Tedesco’s side, who, however, could table a formal bid within the next few days. 

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Fenerbahce are aiming to seal a bargain deal for the Frenchman, and that they are hoping to convince Milan into cutting their losses after investing €37m plus bonuses on his signing from Chelsea over the summer. 

Milan, meanwhile, are not closed off to the idea of parting ways with Nkunku according to Sunday’s report. However, they will not be willing to accept a lowball offer from Fenerbahce, particularly if the opening offer is in the region of €20m-€25m. That would represent an immediate capital loss, which doesn’t help Milan in the slightest. 

As for Nkunku’s stance, the Frenchman is still keen to prove himself in San Siro according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. He is not pushing for an early exit, and had registered two goals from four consecutive Serie A starts at the end of 2025. 

As La Gazzetta dello Sport puts it, the situation is certainly one to keep an eye on, but this is not a deal that is close to being concluded as things stand.
