'Bleeding from the ears': Ex-Trump official laughs over alleged use of 'sonic weapon'
Conservative commentator KT McFarland, an alumni of both the Reagan and Trump administrations, took to Fox Business Monday to support the Trump administration’s alleged use of a secret “sonic weapon” in Venezuela, and laughed as she described its victims “bleeding from the nose [and] ears.”
The claim comes from pro-Trump radio host Mike Netter, who shared an alleged transcript of a Venezuelan security guard who claims to have fallen victim to the sonic weapon attack carried out by the United States on Jan. 3. According to the transcript, the security guard described a “very intense sound wave” that made them feel like their “head was exploding from the inside,” and caused bleeding and vomiting.
While unverified, the claim was promoted by the White House after Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who shared Netter’s report on social media.
McFarland was asked by Fox Business’ Stuart Varney about the alleged sonic weapon, to which she granted the allegation more credibility by commenting on the technology’s frequent use by law enforcement.
“They're not an uncommon thing, police even have them, [and] we know that in Cuba, sonic weapons were used against American embassy personnel,” McFarland said, referencing past reports about “Havana Syndrome,” a set of symptoms such as nausea that some claimed were induced by sonic weapons — claims that were later debunked by the CIA.
As for whether a sonic weapon was used in the U.S. attack on Venezuela, McFarland said it was possible, and that if it was used, was an effective deterrent for the Trump administration’s adversaries.
“Now, were they used in the Maduro raid? Don't know, but it certainly is a thought that people suddenly fell to the ground, bleeding from the nose, bleeding from the ears… that is a real deterrent to anybody who's protecting bad guys that Americans don't like!” McFarland said as she started to laugh.
“They don't die, but they get stunned and they're incapacitated for a brief period of time.”
“I didn’t know we had that kind of stuff!” Varney said in surprise.
