“I was so young when we made High School Musical, and it was just a really great experience,” Zac told People in a new interview.
“We were having fun, learning as we went, and honestly just enjoying every moment together. I never could’ve imagined it would still mean so much to people 20 years later, or that a whole new generation would connect with it, and I’m grateful for that,” he added.
Vanessa took to Instagram to mark the occasion.
“I cannot believe HSM turns 20 today. Thank you to everyone who’s been there since day 1. We’ll always be in this together ❤️❤️❤️,” Vanessa said.
She also told People that she will never forget the “We’re All In This Together” dance routine, which she says is “ingrained into my DNA.”
“Between filming it, doing it on tour and seeing people doing it on social media from time to time it stays in my head and in my body. I feel like it always will be,” she said.
Zac and Vanessa began dating in 2005 after filming the movie and they eventually broke up in 2010.
