How To Watch The 2026 X Games Snowboard Events
Last year, the X Games were filled with plenty of firsts.
Hiroto Ogiwara won a gold medal in Big Air after putting down a 2340, a first in any snowboard competition anywhere. It was a trick that he had in the bag, but said that he’d been waiting to pull it out in Aspen. Fellow countryman Taiga Hasegawa also made history with the world’s first cab 2160 in competition.
Then Wang Ziyang won Knuckle Huck with a triple tame dog.

Who knows what we’ll see this year?
Scotty James will return to defend his men’s SuperPipe title. He’ll try to win his fifth straight, which would put him one gold medal shy of Shaun White’s six straight. And all eyes will be on Japan’s Kokomo Murase, after she made noise on the internet when she landed the first-ever backside triple cork 1620 during a training run. She’ll headline a star-studded lineup of women competing in both Big Air and Slopestyle.
Of course, the X Games is its own beast, but perhaps most importantly, it will serve as a dry run for the Olympics that will follow at the beginning of next month. Not every rider who competes in the X Games will be in Milano-Cortina, but we can take what we learn from their runs in Colorado and apply them to the world’s biggest stage.
Red Gerard, Mark McMorris, Laurie Blouin, Hasegawa, Yuto Totsuka, Mitsuki Ono, and Scotty James are among the riders that we will see both in Aspen and Italy this year.
