‘Time will tell all’: Trump confirms DOJ investigation of Ilhan Omar’s sudden millions
President Donald Trump on Monday confirmed that the Department of Justice and Congress are investigating the sudden surge in wealth reported by Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat who represents a Somali immigrant community district in Minnesota.
On Truth Social, he said, “A major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets. Additionally, the DOJ and Congress are looking at ‘Congresswoman’ Illhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars. Time will tell all. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT.”
A report at the Washington Examiner said, “The investigation comes after widespread fraud was reported in several Minnesota health services programs, with most of the defendants being of Somali descent. Trump has sought to tie Omar to the scandal, referring to her as ‘garbage,’ and said Somalis should ‘go back to where they came from.'”
The facts are that the evidence so far shows rampant fraud in Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community. Some of the frauds were as simple as claiming to have a daycare at a particular address, then billing the government for millions while providing no services to anyone.

Omar, whose main talking point for months now has been to trash President Trump, responded with another trashing. She accused him of “panicking.”

The DOJ review of Omar’s sudden explosion of wealth comes after the House Oversight Committee launched an inquiry into Omar’s net worth, reportedly up 3,500% in just a couple of years.
The Examiner said, “In her 2024 financial disclosures, Omar valued Rose Lake Capital LLC, a business firm co-founded by her husband, between $5 million and $25 million, a significant increase from the $1 to $1,000 reported in 2023. Her husband, Tim Mynett, has a second business that has also increased in net worth — a California-based winery with its assets between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 in the last disclosure. The winery was worth between $15,000 and $50,000 in the previous year’s financial disclosure.”
Omar has denied any wrongdoing regarding the millions in assets she suddenly is reporting.
She claims it’s all a “coordinated right-wing disinformation campaign.”
