The three-day industrial exhibition, titled “Our Industry, Our Pride,” officially opened on Saturday in Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand province. The event aims to showcase local production, foster collaboration among Afghan traders, and expand business opportunities nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, nearly 50 booths are participating, featuring agricultural products, food items, pharmaceuticals, and construction materials. Manufacturers and entrepreneurs from Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Kandahar, Paktika, and other provinces are attending.
The exhibition is organized by Hakmal Company and Sikararam Ahmadi Marketing Services, providing a platform for domestic entrepreneurs to highlight their goods and connect with potential buyers and investors.
Traders attending the event emphasized persistent challenges in Afghanistan’s business environment, citing limited electricity, inadequate infrastructure, high taxes, and operational costs as significant hurdles to growth.
Afghanistan’s industrial sector has long faced challenges including unstable infrastructure, limited access to finance, and ongoing security concerns, which have hindered domestic production and trade expansion.
