Tottenham hero Dominic Solanke provides injury update after he was forced off against Man City
Tottenham goalscorer Dominic Solanke has now provided an update on his ankle after being forced off in the game against Manchester City.
It was indeed a comeback inspired by Dominic Solanke as Spurs battled from the brink of despair against Manchester City to earn a point.
Spurs were two goals down at halftime but managed to outplay Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the second half to secure a 2-2 draw.
Solanke outmuscled Khusanov and Marc Guehi to force the goal across the line for Tottenham’s first, before the Englishman pulled out an audacious scorpion kick for the second, grabbing his first goals against the Citizens in his career.
Dominic Solanke provides ankle update after Tottenham brace
The forward, however, could not see out the entire ninety minutes as he was forced off following a knock to his ankle.
Speaking after the match, Solanke provided an update on his injury, playing down concerns surrounding the issue and suggesting the problem was not serious.
Providing a brief update on his condition, Solanke told reporters: “I just rolled my ankle a bit, but I will be fine.”
Why Solanke fitness matters for Spurs going forward
This news will no doubt come as a relief to Tottenham fans who will be desperate for the forward to stay fit for the rest of the season.
Solanke missed the first half of the campaign after an ankle injury kept him on the sidelines for a disappointing six months.
However, since his return, the Englishman has been amongst the goals, grabbing four in his last four outings for the Lilywhites, reminding everyone of exactly what Spurs have been missing.
