JD Vance Defends Trump's Epstein Connection, Claims They Weren't Friendly as He Slams 'America's Elites'
JD Vance is diminishing Donald Trump‘s connections to Jeffrey Epstein while highlighting alleged friendships between Epstein and “America’s elites.”
The 79-year-old president’s relationship with Epstein, a late convicted sex offender who was also accused of sex trafficking, has been the subject of great debate amid calls for the release of the Epstein files, a trove of documents from the investigations into his alleged crimes.
Trump‘s name has appeared multiple times in the documents that have been released by the Department of Justice thus far. The New York Times noted more than 38,000 references across roughly 5,300 documents in the files.
However, he continues to deny any association with Epstein‘s alleged crimes and has not been accused of wrongdoing. Other celebrity names have also appeared in the documents.
In a new interview, the 41-year-old vice president defended Trump and made some allegations about his relationship with the late Epstein.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Vance said that the Epstein files highlight what he described as “an incestuous nature to America’s elites,” which he described as “pretty gross.”
“And, a lot of people, I think, it reflects very poorly on them. Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, a lot of others,” he said.
While he acknowledged that the president shares some similarities with the group, he alleged that Trump “is very much outside of the social circle.”
“He knows a lot of these people. He certainly has similar wealth and power. But he never really was friendly with Epstein in a way that a lot of these other people were,” Vance said.
An analysis by The New York Times charted Trump and Epstein‘s connections over the years, noting that they appeared to be formerly friendly but had a falling out of some sorts. The exact details of their friendship and the end of it remain in question.
In a statement provided to NYT by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, it was alleged that the president “kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago for being a creep.”
Former President Bill Clinton and former first lady Hillary Clinton recently agreed to testify in an Epstein investigation led by the House Oversight Committee.
