The drag racing community is saddened by the sudden passing of Tak Shigematsu, a respected Japanese Nitro Harley rider.
Known for his fearless riding style, deep passion for drag racing, and unmistakable personality at the track, Tak was a larger-than-life presence in the Japanese motorcycle racing scene and here in the States. His love for the sport, his dedication to competition, and the energy he brought to every event made him a memorable figure to fans, fellow racers, and teams throughout the community.
Tak Shigematsu passed away on February 5, after being hospitalized with pneumonia for a month.
On behalf of the Dragbike.com community, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and to the entire Japanese drag racing and motorcycle community who were touched by his life and racing career.
He will be remembered for his passion for Nitro Harley racing and the lasting impact he made on the sport.
