Failing Starmer’s Impending Removal Dominates the Headlines in the UK, as His Allies Warn That a Labour ‘Coup’ by Former Minister Raynes Will Trigger a General Election
Starmer is having his own Epstein moment.
The new Epstein files scandal hit with such force in the UK that, besides the consequences to the king’s brother, former Prince Andrew, and the complete obliteration of the political career of former Labour peer Lord Peter Mandelson, reports now say that failing Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will be the next in line.
The impending removal of Starmer has become an inescapable theme in the British press, with a Labour Party palace coup in motion led by former cabinet minister Angela Rayner.
Patrick Maguire wrote in The Times how ‘hollow’ Starmer ‘outsourced every significant decision’ only to find out ‘he’s left to pay the bill’:
‘It’s over. Let’s get that bit out of the way first, shall we? He won’t go today — nor tomorrow, not even next week — but soon he will be gone.’

Maguire sees the prime minister ‘lashed to the mast with Lord Mandelson, stricken on the rocks of another man’s disgrace. From which there is no escape’.
“That’s how we ended up here. You outsource the economic policy to [Rachel] Reeves, the AI policy to [Tony] Blair, the campaign to McFadden, the devolution policy to Gordon Brown, the defense policy to George Robertson, the health policy to Alan Milburn, the foreign policy to Jonathan Powell. And then you outsource the politics of everything else — of the really important stuff that confounds and unsettles and repulses you — to Morgan [McSweeney], who outsources it to Peter [Mandelson], and all of a sudden, you’re left with the bill.”
We are entering the final weeks of Keir Starmer’s premiership.
It’s over for him. He knows it. Downing Street knows it. Labour knows it. And Mandelson most certainly knows it.

The BBC report tries to protect Starmer, but has to admit:

In the political front, Starmer’s allies are desperately warning rebel MPs in their own Labour party that ‘a leadership coup by Angela Rayner will trigger a general election’ – which will certainly remove Labour from power.
Daily Mail reported:
“The under-fire Prime Minister is battling to stay in Downing Street as he reels from the Lord Mandelson scandal, with a number of backbenchers openly questioning his future.
[…] The Daily Mail understands that in the wake of Wednesday’s drama, Ms. Rayner told an MP ‘I will be ready’ to launch a leadership challenge, despite an ongoing probe into her tax affairs.”
