December and January proved to be lackluster, despite a monster storm that dumped feet of snow across the Lake Tahoe area between Christmas and New Year's, and skiers have been wondering: Will winter ever arrive?

- Mount Hood Meadows, Oregon: 7 inches
- Sun Valley, Idaho: 4 inches
- Big Sky Resort, Montana: 4 inches

Nearly every ski resort from California to Colorado is expected to record new snow, and some resorts in the Lake Tahoe area could eclipse 60 inches (five feet) before next week's storm is over.
