No Valentine This Year? Wendy’s Has $1 Cheeseburgers for Singles Awareness Day
Who said single people can't receive gifts around the Valentine's Day season? Not Wendy's.
The fast food chain is hoping that loneliness and cheeseburgers do mix, offering singles and those with broken hearts an exclusive offer, just for them. No couples allowed.
Singles Awareness Day (SAD) is an anti-Valentine's holiday celebrated annually on February 15, the day after Valentine's Day. The day aims to make those not in a romantic relationship enjoy their singledom, helping create a special day where you can treat yourself for successfully flying solo.
While other fast food restaurants like Dunkin' Donuts are offering Valentine's day-themed menu items, Wendy's is going the opposite way.
According to a recent press release announcement, lonely hearts club customers can get a Dave’s Single, a quarter-pounder with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayonnaise, and onion on a toasted bun, for only $1. A single dollar for a single person.
The in-app and online offer is available with purchase and is exclusively available on February 15 only. And don't worry — you don't have to prove you're single to get the deal. What would that even entail? Simply cite the deal when ordering the Dave's Single.
If you are, however, loved-up and in a relationship, there are plenty of other restaurants offering Valentine's Day deals. Krispy Kreme, for example, is offering a special Valentine's menu in February, including some sweet, treat-filled gifts your special someone may enjoy receiving.
The chain's Teddy Bear Cookies & Kreme Doughnut, for example, is filled with a cookies-and-cream-flavored cream and dipped in chocolate icing. The treat is topped with a chocolate bear face, perfect for a little present, if boxes of chocolates aren't their thing.
Dunkin' Donuts is offering special food items and limited-time merchandise until February 17. Their seasonal, heart-shaped donuts have returned, and two new coffees are available: the Toxic Ex-Presso Cloud Latte, and the Sweet On You Cloud Latte. Valentine's-themed Munchkin tins are also available.
