Oliver Glasner was in no mood to answer speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham following the sacking of Thomas Frank.
Tottenham Hotspur’s focus is now on securing the next manager who will take them through yet another rebuild following the dismissal of Thomas Frank.
It has been reported that Spurs are looking to bring in a new manager on Monday as they continue to assess their options.
Whether that will be a permanent new boss or an interim option remains to be seen, with several candidates available to the Lilywhites.
Tottenham managerial search sees Oliver Glasner respond to links
Oliver Glasner is one name Tottenham have been linked with, with the Palace manager even shortlisted last year when Spurs were looking to replace Ange Postecoglou.
That search led to Thomas Frank being the preferred managerial choice for Tottenham, but with the Dane now sacked, Spurs could once again consider the Palace boss.
However, the one-time FA Cup winner was in no mood to answer speculation on Wednesday. Following Crystal Palace’s latest 3-2 defeat to Burnley, Oliver Glasner was asked about the Tottenham Hotspur job by a rather brave journalist.
The Austrian’s reply suggested he was not overly impressed with the question, especially after his side just threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2.
The Palace boss apparently appeared disgusted, shaking his head with a stern look, according to football reporter Bobby Manzi.
Why Glasner will not be keen on Spurs job
Glasner has spent the last few years building his reputation at Selhurst Park, with the Austrian leading Palace to their first-ever trophy when he won the FA Cup last season.
Not only has he delivered silverware, he has punched above his weight, securing a 12th-place finish in the 24/25 season, while also winning the Community Shield.
However, there seems to have been a strain in the relationship between Glasner and the Palace higher-ups, with the Eagles boss calling them out for their lack of ambition following the club’s sale of some of their top players while failing to replace them.
That is very similar to Tottenham, who simply do not have the sort of ambition the likes of Glasner will expect, making it very unlikely he takes the Spurs job.
