UNAMA Calls for Equal Rights and Inclusion on Social Justice Day in Afghanistan
The United Nations mission in Afghanistan urged equal job opportunities, education access and inclusive decision-making to advance social justice nationwide.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) marked World Social Justice Day by stressing that equal employment opportunities and support for families are essential for Afghanistan’s stability.
In its message, UNAMA said every Afghan citizen has the right to work and earn an income without discrimination and with full respect for human dignity.
The mission highlighted humanitarian assistance and alternative livelihood opportunities as key elements in strengthening social justice across the country.
UNAMA also said no nation can achieve social justice if half its population is deprived of secondary education, a reference widely linked to the current situation facing girls in Afghanistan.
It further stressed that lasting peace will only be possible when women, youth, ethnic groups and persons with disabilities are included in decision-making processes.
Afghanistan continues to face economic hardship and humanitarian challenges, with millions relying on international aid and limited access to employment opportunities.
World Social Justice Day is observed annually to promote equality, eliminate discrimination and strengthen social solidarity worldwide.
