Iran, U.S. to Hold Third Round of Nuclear Talks in Geneva on Thursday
Iran and the United States will hold a third round of nuclear talks in Geneva Thursday, as both sides signal cautious optimism.
Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi confirmed that the next round of Iran-US nuclear negotiations will take place on Thursday, Febraury 26, in Geneva.
At the same time, Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran is closely monitoring Washington’s actions and is prepared for any possible scenario.
According to a Sunday report by Reuters, Iran is ready to offer new concessions on its nuclear program if economic sanctions are lifted and its right to peaceful uranium enrichment is recognized.
Pezeshkian wrote on X that Iran remains committed to regional peace and stability, describing recent negotiations with the United States as showing “encouraging signs.”
Earlier, Steve Witkoff said Donald Trump was curious why Iran had not “surrendered” despite US military pressure or agreed to limit its nuclear activities.
Meanwhile, Abbas Araghchi told CBS News that a diplomatic solution remains possible, writing on X: “You wonder why we do not surrender? Because we are Iranian.”
The United States has reinforced its military presence in the Middle East, with Trump warning that “very bad things” would happen if no agreement is reached.
The second round of talks was held in Geneva late last month, but indirect negotiations stalled over US demands that Iran halt uranium enrichment.
Tehran has repeatedly denied seeking nuclear weapons, while disagreements persist over the scope and sequencing of sanctions relief.
Despite sharp rhetoric and unresolved differences, both sides appear willing to continue diplomacy, keeping the possibility of a negotiated settlement alive.
