'It was something': MS NOW host bursts into laughter at Comer's Hillary Clinton faceplant
The three co-hosts of MS NOW’s “Morning Joe” could not stop laughing on Friday morning at how poorly the Hillary Clinton deposition on Thursday went for House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY).
Following the six-hour interrogation of Clinton, centered on a person she has never met, Jeffrey Epstein, the former Secretary of States gave a bemused press conference where she ridiculed some of the questions Republicans lobbed at her and flipped the script by pressing Comer to depose Donald Trump.
According to host Joe Scarborough, who is fond of comparing Comer to the overly smart Arnold the Pig from the 1960s situation comedy “Green Acres,” Comer should have known ahead of time that he was no match for Clinton who would get the last word.
“We knew how it was going to end!" Scarborough boasted. “You knew James Comer against Hillary Clinton, this wasn't going to go well.”
“I mean, there were reports, Mika [Brzezinski], and they're unconfirmed on X, but, you know, the one smart person on the Oversight Committee was not even a person; Arnold the Pig is chief legal counsel, and was seen leaving Chappaqua like ten minutes before the deposition started, saying, ‘I want no part of this s---. This is going to be bad,’’’ Scarborough joked.
After he added, “Hillary Clinton yesterday, man, Hillary Clinton, by all accounts, just I mean, owned the place,” an amused co-host Willie Geist chimed in with, “Yeah, yeah. I mean, this is, it's just an absolute clown show — that she's called a clown show, having nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein, as she just said, never even met the man, that perhaps she could shed some light on her husband, who is going to be deposed today. That's the time to ask those questions. And then, because they had nowhere to go, started asking her about Pizzagate and UFOs. Just an utter waste of time.”
Noting that Clinton put Comer on the hot seat by saying he needs to depose Trump about his relationship with the convicted sex trafficker, a smirking Brzezinski offered, “It was something.”
