Yankees vs. Giants on Netflix: When Is Opening Day of MLB 2026 and How to Watch
Baseball is coming back, and this year, you won't need a cable package to catch the first pitch of the season.
For the first time ever, Major League Baseball's opening night will stream exclusively on Netflix. The New York Yankees visit the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park in San Francisco on Wednesday, March 25, with first pitch set for 8:05 PM ET. It will be the only game on the entire MLB schedule that night — a standalone primetime showcase designed to kick off the season with a bang (and maybe a home run or two if Aaron Judge has anything to do with it).
How to Watch MLB Opening Day 2026
All you need to watch this year's opening day is a Netflix subscription. No cable, no sports package, no extra add-ons required. Netflix will produce the broadcast in partnership with MLB Network's Emmy Award-winning production team.
Who is Playing in the Season Opener?
Aaron Judge — the Yankees' seven-time All-Star, three-time AL MVP, and Northern California native — returns to the Bay Area to face three-time All-Star Rafael Devers and the Giants. It's a marquee matchup between two of baseball's most storied franchises to kick off what promises to be a wide-open season.
Wednesday night's Netflix game is technically Opening Night — the traditional Opening Day slate follows over the next two days. Twenty-two teams begin their seasons on Thursday, March 26, headlined by the Dodgers hosting the Diamondbacks at 8:30 PM ET on NBC — as Los Angeles chases a three-peat. Six more teams open on Friday, March 27. Saturday, March 28 is the first day all 30 teams are in action simultaneously.

What Other Baseball Games Are On Netflix This Season?
The Netflix-MLB partnership runs through 2028 and covers more than just Opening Night. Netflix also has exclusive rights to the T-Mobile Home Run Derby on July 13 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, and the Field of Dreams game on August 13 — Minnesota Twins vs. Philadelphia Phillies — streaming live from Dyersville, Iowa.
