Ian Huntley’s daughter says his ashes should be ‘flushed down the toilet’
The only child of murderer Ian Huntley has said the ‘devil is waiting’ for her father after his death.
Huntley died yesterday more than a week after he was left blind and brain damaged by a fellow prisoner armed with a spiked metal pole.
He was serving a life sentence at HMP Frankland, County Durham, for murdering ten-year-old best friends Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002.
Speaking to the Sun on Sunday, his daughter Samantha Bryan said: ‘We should flush his ashes down the toilet.’
She told the newspaper: ‘What he’s done will never leave me. But him not being here any more is definitely going to better my life and my mindset.

‘I’ve had nightmares for years. Knowing he’s gone, I think the nightmares will now dissipate.’
Samantha’s mother Katie, who was seduced by Huntley aged 15 and abused by him before she left the relationship, agreed with her daughter that he does not deserved the ‘dignity of a grave’.
She added: ‘As a mother, my thoughts are also with the family of Holly and Jessica. Very much so. We should save our tears for them.’
Huntley’s death was confirmed by the Ministry of Justice on Saturday morning.
A spokesperson said: ‘The murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman remains one of the most shocking and devastating cases in our nation’s history, and our thoughts are with their families.’
Triple killer Anthony Russell, 43, was widely named as the prime suspect, with reports saying the attack was launched following an argument in a workshop.
The attacker was said to have shouted: ‘I’ve done it, I’ve done it. I’ve killed him, I’ve killed him.’
Fellow inmates are said to have cheered as the suspect was led away in handcuffs.
Huntley’s 71-year-old mother Lynda Richards was reportedly beside his hospital bed when life support was switched off yesterday.
