Club Announcement: Farnborough Women
The newly-appointed duo will help our Women’s First Team continue to navigate their inaugural season in a competitive Southern Region Women’s Football League Division One North.
Matt Waite
Matt is new to our Women’s set-up and arrives having worked at Berkshire-based CSA 07 as Men’s Under 18s Manager for a handful of years, and has previously held the role of Men’s First Team Coach at Tadley Calleva and Thatcham Town for three years each.
Alongside holding a UEFA B Level 3 and Talent ID Level 1 qualification, Waite also learnt his trade with EFL side Reading a few years back.
He hopes to use his background in First Team environments to help steer Farnborough Women towards more success on the pitch.
Stéphan D’Abreu-Hayling
Promoted from within, Stéphan now takes up a Joint-Manager role having started out as our First Team Coach back in January 2024.
Away from the pitch he currently serves as a Major in the British Army, and has over 20 years of experience in the game as both a player and a Manager.
D’Abreu-Hayling has formerly been Manager of Arborfield Women’s Development Team and is also currently Head Coach of Army Corps Women’s Football.
Close to completing his UEFA B Licence later this year, Stéphan will continue to maximise the squad’s potential to build on the foundations of recent campaigns.
Just last week Waite and D’Abreu-Hayling oversaw back-to-back victories with Farnborough Women beating Aldershot Town Women 3-1 to book a place in the NHDFA Women’s Cup Final, as well as a 2-1 victory on the road at Chesham United Ladies Development to pick up three points in the SRWFL Division One North.
Welcome Matt and Stéphan!
