Souza could be sold by Tottenham if they are relegated
Brazilian outlet Bolavip (as relayed by Sport Witness) take a closer look at Spurs’ prospect of relegation and reveals what it could mean for January signing Souza.
The 19-year-old full-back has been praised by Igor Tudor, and he has already made three appearances in the Premier League.
However, this latest update suggests that the young full-back could leave N17 this summer if Tottenham go down.
It is suggested that the Lilywhites would want to restructure their squad if they are relegated, and Souza could be one of the assets sold, given that he is young and still has a high market value.
Wage cuts will be triggered for Spurs players if they are relegated
While Bolavip seem confident that relegation would trigger a selling spree at Tottenham, the club are insured on one level in the event of a bottom-three finish.
All Spurs players signed under Daniel Levy have a relegation clause in their contracts, and many of them could see their salary cut by half in the event they go down.
However, it is unclear if such clauses exist in the contracts of Conor Gallagher and Souza, who were both signed in the recent transfer window following Levy’s exit.
