His latest acquisition, however, may be his most extravagant yet – a $15-million, 33-meter luxury yacht from the esteemed Mangusta GranSport series, aptly named ‘Unleash the Lion’.
Fresh off clinching his fourth consecutive Formula 1 World Championship, Verstappen recently took delivery of the sleek vessel at the Overmarine shipyard in Viareggio, Italy.
The understated launch event was attended by Verstappen, his partner Kelly Piquet, who is expecting the couple’s first child later this year.
The pair, accompanied by a small entourage, kept the occasion low-key, with heightened security and shipyard personnel sworn to secrecy to ensure privacy.
A Passion for Performance and Elegance
‘Unleash the Lion’ is a reflection of the 27-year-old’s passion for both performance and elegance.
Commissioned two years ago, the yacht boasts cutting-edge technology, bespoke interiors, and a design customized to the reigning champion’s exact specifications.
And for good measure, its 33-meter length subtly nods to Verstappen’s racing identity – the number 33 that adorned his cars before switching to #1 as champion.
This latest acquisition places Verstappen among an exclusive club of sports icons who own Mangusta yachts, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Roberto Mancini, and Manchester City chairman Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
With ‘Unleash the Lion’, Verstappen has added yet another layer to his legendary career—this time, one that floats luxuriously on the Mediterranean.
