Extreme heat ahead for Astana and Almaty: Three-day forecast

Weather in Astana

On July 2, Astana will have partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. Southerly winds of 2–7 m/s at night and 7–12 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will be 14–16°C, with daytime temperatures reaching 30–32°C.

During midday hours, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and remember to stay hydrated.

On July 3, partly cloudy and dry weather will continue. Southeastern winds at 5–10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be 18–20°C, with intense daytime heat of 33–35°C.

Due to the strong heat, it is recommended to limit physical activity during the day and, if possible, stay in air-conditioned rooms.

On July 4, partly cloudy with rain and thunderstorms during the day. Northwesterly winds of 3–8 m/s at night, increasing to 9–14 m/s with gusts up to 15–20 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will be 19–21°C, and daytime temperatures will remain very hot at 33–35°C.

Local thunderstorms and squally winds are possible — avoid open areas and try not to park under trees.

On July 2, Almaty is expected to be partly cloudy and dry. Northern winds at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be 19–21°C, with daytime temperatures of 32–34°C.

On July 3, partly cloudy and dry weather will continue. Southwesterly winds at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be 18–20°C, with intense daytime heat of 34–36°C.

The heat may cause overheating — plan outdoor activities and sports in the morning or evening.

On July 4, partly cloudy with no precipitation. Southwesterly winds at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be 20–22°C, with daytime temperatures reaching an intense 35–37°C.

Very hot conditions will persist — monitor the condition of children and the elderly, and avoid staying in cars without air conditioning.
