Stormy winds to hit in coming days: Astana and Almaty weather forecast

Weather in Astana

On July 4, unstable weather is expected in the capital. During the day, rain, thunderstorms, possible hail, squally winds, and a dust storm are forecast. Winds from the southeast shifting to the southwest at 9–14 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s and at times up to 25 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be +20…+22°C, with intense daytime heat persisting at +33…+35°C.

The capital will see scorching heat, dust, and possible thunderstorms.

On July 5, partly cloudy conditions are expected, with occasional rain and thunderstorms, and possible daytime hail. Winds will shift to the northwest at 9–14 m/s, with gusts up to 15–20m/s. Overnight temperatures will drop to +15…+17°C, with cooler daytime temperatures of +22…+24°C.

The heat will ease sharply on Saturday.

On July 6, no precipitation is expected in Astana. Partly cloudy, with westerly winds of 9–14 m/s. Night temperatures will be +14…+16°C, rising to +26…+28°C during the day.

Sunday promises to be comfortable, with dry conditions during the day.

Weather in Almaty

On July 4, Almaty will see partly cloudy skies with no precipitation. Easterly winds of 3–8 m/s. Night temperatures +20…+22°C, with daytime temperatures remaining very hot at +35…+37°C.

The day will be dry, with blazing sunlight.

On July 5, partly cloudy conditions will continue, again without precipitation. Northwest winds of 3–8 m/s. Night temperatures +23…+25°C, with scorching daytime temperatures of +36…+38°C.

Saturday could become the hottest day of the week.

On July 6, the weather will remain hot. Partly cloudy, no precipitation. Northeasterly winds of 3–8 m/s. Night temperatures +21…+23°C, daytime +31…+33°C.

In Almaty, the heat will start to subside slightly, but it will still be very warm.
