Trossard’s stay means Arsenal may not sign another winger
The 30-year-old has been a key player for the Gunners since he arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023. He has managed 51 goal contributions from 124 appearances in all competitions.
Trossard recently changed his representative, which hinted that he could move on. Arsenal reportedly set a price tag of £20 million, but it appears Fenerbahce have refused to match the figure.
The Belgian will undoubtedly have more suitors, but Arsenal’s decision to open contract talks suggests that they may not pursue another specialist winger after Noni Madueke arrives from Chelsea.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has been identified as a top target to bolster the left wing, but the club may look to strengthen other positions if they manage to commit Trossard to a new long-term deal.
Instead of Rodrygo, the focus could shift to landing a versatile playmaker, such as Eberechi Eze, alongside Viktor Gyokeres, who is the club’s top choice for the number nine position this summer.
