Arsenal to hold firm? Interest grows in a key member of Arteta’s squad
Juventus have identified Jakub Kiwior as a possible defensive reinforcement, with Arsenal facing growing interest in the Polish international this summer.
Talks over Kelly’s future are ongoing, and Juventus are assessing alternatives should a suitable offer for the former Bournemouth man arrive.
Kiwior, who joined Arsenal from Spezia for €25 million in January 2023, is well known in Italy following his time in Serie A.
The 25-year-old has been a steady, versatile option under Mikel Arteta, capable of playing across the back line and in midfield.
Last season, he made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing two assists.
He particularly impressed during Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final run, stepping up in Gabriel Magalhaes’ absence and earning praise for his performance against PSG and Kylian Mbappe.
Despite being a backup to first-choice defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, Kiwior’s ability to slot in seamlessly has made him a valued member of Arteta’s squad.
Juventus see him as an experienced, left-footed option who could comfortably slot into Igor Tudor’s three-man defence.
However, Arsenal are not looking to offload him unless a significant offer is made.
The Gunners have already rejected a €27 million loan-to-buy offer from Porto earlier this summer, insisting on either a higher fee or keeping the player.
Arsenal value Kiwior at over €30 million and are not interested in temporary deals.
With the club preparing for a packed 2025/26 season that includes Premier League and Champions League commitments, squad depth is a priority.
Arteta is understood to want Kiwior to stay, but the situation could evolve depending on outgoing business and the player’s own desire for regular minutes.
The arrival of Cristhian Mosquera has added further depth in defence, increasing competition for places.
Juventus are keeping a close eye on developments but are yet to formalise a bid.
Should Lloyd Kelly leave in the coming weeks, their interest in Kiwior could accelerate.
For now, Arsenal remain firm in their stance: Kiwior is not for sale unless the terms fully suit the club.
