German club could now sign £25m Arsenal star after £69m financial boost

Stuttgart could step up talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira, with Nick Woltemade on his way to Newcastle United for £69 million.

The Bundesliga outfit have agreed to part ways with Woltemade for £65m plus £4m in add-ons. The German striker has already finalised terms with the Magpies.

His departure could pave the way for a late spending spree at Stuttgart, and they could make a renewed effort to land Vieira, who has been one of their top targets.

Earlier this month, the German club proposed a loan deal with an obligation to buy for £17m, and were reluctant to come closer to Arsenal’s £25m price tag.

Woltemade’s Stuttgart exit could benefit Arsenal’s bid to offload Vieira

Vieira has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Gunners. He spent the previous campaign on loan at Porto, contributing five goals and six assists.

The Primeira Liga outfit did not pursue a permanent transfer, but Arsenal have a genuine suitor in Stuttgart, who could now be willing to pay a higher fee.

The German outfit were reluctant to pay anything more than £17m for the 25-year-old, but the entire dynamic has changed with Woltemade’s surprise departure.

Stuttgart have received an unexpected sum of money with the Magpies’ desperate need for a new striker.

Sebastian Hoeness’ side could utilise the funds on multiple forward signings. We won’t be surprised if they are willing to pay slightly more to purchase Vieira.

There is presently an £8m gap in the valuation between the clubs. A middle ground could be reached over a £21m package for the playmaker before the deadline.
