Tokayev arrived in Shanghai at the invitation of Xi Jinping

Tengrinews.kz — At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Shanghai for a working visit, with reference to the Akorda press service.
Talks between the President of Kazakhstan and the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, are scheduled for July 16.

In addition, a roundtable meeting will be held with the heads of leading Chinese companies.

On July 17, the President will participate in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), themed "AI Partnership for a Brighter Future."
As a reminder, in April of this year, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke at the awards ceremony for the winners of the Alem.ai battle and AI Governance Cup. At that time, the President noted that total digitalization and the implementation of artificial intelligence are currently among the key factors for the comprehensive modernization of Kazakhstan. During his speech, he also announced that the Digital Qazaqstan strategy would be approved to define the country's digital development vector.

"As you know, this year has been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan. Therefore, there is still much work ahead. We must unite and work selflessly to achieve our goals," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said previously.

He believes the world is currently changing at an unprecedented pace. In his view, amid global turbulence, it is critically important to strengthen the state's competitiveness and ensure its growth and prosperity to avoid being left on the sidelines of progress.
On June 9, the Head of State signed a decree "On the Approval of the Nationwide Strategy for Large-Scale Digitalization and Total Implementation of Artificial Intelligence Technologies 'Digital Qazaqstan' until 2029."
