Kazakhtelecom explains Telegram disruption in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhtelecom JSC has recorded restrictions and reduced availability of the Telegram messenger for users in Kazakhstan.
The company said its specialists also noted a sharp drop in Telegram traffic at key international peering points in Frankfurt and Moscow.
At the same time, no accidents, technical failures or other disruptions were detected within the operator’s own infrastructure. Kazakhtelecom’s network is operating normally.
To determine the cause of the problems, the company sent an official request to Telegram’s administrative and technical team.
“Additional information will be provided as soon as a response is received from Telegram representatives,” Kazakhtelecom said.
The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development also confirmed that users were experiencing problems accessing the messenger.
“We are currently receiving individual reports from users concerning the unavailability of Telegram. Technical specialists are investigating the situation,” the ministry said.
The cause of the disruption has not yet been specified.
Earlier, Kazakhstanis reported problems with Telegram. Data from the Detector404 portal also indicate disruptions.
