Thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds: where weather will deteriorate sharply in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Thunderstorms, hail and strong winds are expected in several regions of Kazakhstan on Monday, September 7. Forecasters are also warning residents of some regions about a high fire risk, according to Kazhydromet.

High fire danger remains in the northwest and south of Abai Region.

In Aktobe, southerly and southeasterly winds with gusts of 15–18 meters per second are possible during the day.

Extreme fire danger remains in the center, west and east of Almaty Region and in Konaev, while high fire danger is in effect in the north of the region.

Light rain and thunderstorms are expected overnight in the west of Atyrau Region. During the day, hail and squalls will also be possible in the west, north and south of the region. Winds will shift from southwesterly to northwesterly, with daytime gusts of 15–20 meters per second in the west, north and south. In Atyrau, rain, thunderstorms and squalls are possible during the day. Winds will shift from southwesterly to northwesterly, with daytime gusts of 15–18 meters per second. Extreme fire danger remains in effect across the region.

High fire danger is expected in the southeast of East Kazakhstan Region.

In the southwest, northeast and mountainous areas of Zhambyl Region, forecasters predict northeasterly winds with gusts of 15–20 meters per second. Extreme fire danger remains in effect across the region.

During the day near the Alakol lakes in Zhetysu Region, northeasterly winds will gust to 15–20 meters per second. From September 7 to 9, high fire danger will remain in the north of the region, while extreme fire danger is expected in the south and east.

Rain, at times heavy, and thunderstorms are expected overnight in the west and north of West Kazakhstan Region. Rain and thunderstorms will continue during the day, with heavy rain accompanied by hail and squalls in the west and north. Winds will shift from southwesterly to northwesterly, with gusts of 15–20 meters per second in the west, north and east of the region. Extreme fire danger remains in effect, while high fire danger is expected in the north and southeast of the region and in Uralsk. In Uralsk, rain, thunderstorms, hail and squalls are expected during the day. Winds will shift from southwesterly to northwesterly, with daytime gusts of 15–20 meters per second.

In Karaganda Region, forecasters predict northeasterly winds shifting to southeasterly. Daytime gusts may reach 15–20 meters per second in the east and south of the region. High fire danger is expected in the north and center of the region and in Karaganda.

In Kostanay Region, southwesterly winds are expected during the day, reaching 15–20 meters per second in the west and north. High fire danger remains in the northwest of the region, while extreme fire danger is in effect in the south, southeast and center.

A dust storm is expected during the day in the center and north of Kyzylorda Region. Northeasterly and easterly winds will reach 15–20 meters per second in these areas during the day. Extreme fire danger remains in effect across the region.

Rain and thunderstorms are possible during the day in the west, south and center of Mangystau Region. Heavy rain, hail and squalls are expected in the west, with fog overnight and in the morning. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, reaching 15–20 meters per second during the day in the west, south and center, with gusts of up to 23 meters per second. Extreme fire danger remains in effect across the region. In Aktau, rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, reaching 15–20 meters per second with gusts of up to 23 meters per second.

High fire danger is expected in the north and south of Pavlodar Region.

In North Kazakhstan Region, southwesterly winds are forecast, with daytime gusts reaching 15–20 meters per second in the west. High fire danger remains in the south and east of the region.

Brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in the south and mountainous areas of Turkestan Region.

In Ulytau Region, easterly and southeasterly winds are expected, with daytime gusts of 15–20 meters per second in the west, north and south of the region. Extreme fire danger remains in effect across the region.
