New auto complex and factories: Kazakhstan signed 10 agreements with China

Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstan signed 10 agreements with Chinese companies at the Kazakhstan–China Investment Forum held on September 25 in Almaty.

The following signed documents were exchanged in the presence of the Head of State:

1. An agreement on the construction of an electrolytic aluminum plant and an associated wind farm in the Abai region between the regional administration (Akimat) and a consortium consisting of Xinjiang Sanbao Industrial Group Co., Ltd and Inner Mongolia Wanjiang Investment Co., Ltd;

2. An agreement on the construction of a particle board (chipboard) plant in the city of Semey between the Abai regional administration and a consortium consisting of Xinjiang Sanbao Industrial Group Co., Ltd and Inner Mongolia Wanjiang Investment Co., Ltd;

3. A joint project development agreement between Samruk-Energy JSC, China Energy Overseas Investment Co., Ltd, and SANY Renewable Energy Co., Ltd;

4. An agreement on the main terms for establishing a specialized investment fund at the AIFC to finance promising projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan between NC Kazakh Invest JSC and Silk Road Finance Corporation;

5. A cooperation agreement for the implementation of renewable energy investment projects, specifically wind power plants with a total capacity of 450 MW in the Akmola region, between the Akmola regional administration and SUNGROW Renewable Development Co., Ltd;

6. A letter of intent for the project "Establishment of a high-tech automotive complex for the production of passenger and specialized vehicles" between the East Kazakhstan regional administration and East Motors Corporation LLP;

7. A cooperation agreement between the Turkistan regional administration and Turan Chemical Company LLP for the construction of a urea fertilizer production plant;

8. A memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the organization and support of dim sum bond issuances on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) between the Almaty city administration and Guotai Junan Securities (Hong Kong) Limited;

9. An agreement for the development of a multifunctional complex featuring an international brand hotel and a business center between the Almaty city administration, Everest Development, and SunnyWorld Group;

10. An agreement approving preliminary financing terms for the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, including the financing of investment projects in priority economic sectors, between the Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC and China Construction Bank Corporation Astana Branch.

Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the Kazakhstan–China Investment Forum. Before the forum began, participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the military personnel who tragically lost their lives in the Mangystau region.

The Head of State emphasized that the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China rests on a solid historical foundation and is steadily developing in the spirit of good-neighborliness and mutual trust.
