It is reassuring to know that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is right on schedule in its preparations for the elections on May 9, 2016. It announced last Sunday that it was ready to start printing the ballots, with a dry run scheduled Monday. It will be able to print almost a million ballots a day, so the forms for the 54.3 million voters in the country and 1.3 million overseas voters will take 70 to 80 days to finish. There are 90 days before May 12, so there is plenty of time in which to make any needed adjustment.
