Malacañang remains confident of the eventual passage of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) by the next administration and Congress and stands by President Aquino’s earlier statements blaming Senators Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Juan Ponce Enrile for its failure to pass. This was stressed despite an explanation from Sen. Marcos that he and Enrile were not at fault for the failure to pass the BBL. Marcos said President Aquino was “barking up the wrong tree,” as he said that it was the failure of Congress to have a quorum that led to the non-passage of the BBL. Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., however, said it was apparent that Sen.
