Kazakhstani world champion wins Asian championship medal
The fight took place in the weight category up to 48 kilograms and ended with a confident victory for the Kazakhstani with a score of 5:0. In the second round, Tashkenbay knocked his opponent down, but he was able to finish the fight.
The Kazakhstani boxer is the current Asian champion, and in 2023 he won the world championship in the same weight category.

Another fight for the semi-finals of the continental tournament took place in the weight category up to 51 kilograms. In it, the world champion from Kazakhstan Saken Bibosinov fought with the young representative of Uzbekistan Asilbek Jalilov.
After two rounds, three out of five judges gave preference to the representative of Uzbekistan with a score of 20:18. After the third round, the referee raised Jalilov's hand.
Saken Bibosinov won the world championship in this weight category in 2021. As for Jalilov, in 2022 he won the Asian boxing championship in the age category up to 22 years.
Thus, Tashkenbay guaranteed himself a bronze medal in the Asian championship, since even in case of defeat in the semi-finals he would remain with the award. Bibosinov is the second of the Kazakhstanis to leave the tournament.

Previously, medals of the Asian Boxing Championship were guaranteed to Orazbek Assylkulov (up to 57 kilograms), Dulat Bekbauov (up to 67 kilograms), Ablaikhan Zhussupov (up to 71 kilograms), Dias Molzhigitov (up to 75 kilograms), Erasyl Zhakpekov (up to 80 kilograms), Bekzat Nurdauletov (up to 86 kilograms) and Aibek Oralbay (over 92+ kilograms).
The Asian Boxing Championship is being held in Chiang Mai (Thailand) from November 30 and will end on December 11. The men's team of Kazakhstan was represented in all 13 weight categories.
