Pakistan’s Prime Minister thanks Tokayev for support
Tengrinews.kz – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for supporting the further development of Kazakh–Pakistani relations, citing Akorda.
On February 4, following talks with Pakistan’s leadership in Islamabad, Tokayev spoke to the media. He expressed gratitude to Sharif for inviting him on a state visit to Pakistan and thanked the Pakistani people for the hospitality shown to the Kazakh delegation.
Sharif said Pakistan views Kazakhstan as one of its most important partners in Central Asia.
“I am convinced that the productive negotiations, crowned with encouraging results, and the signed documents will give new momentum to the development of our bilateral ties. Today, as our countries strengthen partnership, we look forward to opening new horizons of cooperation in trade, culture, education and many other areas. I would like to thank you, Your Excellency, for your support in further developing Pakistani–Kazakh relations,” the Prime Minister of Pakistan said.
During his remarks to the media, Tokayev also said Pakistan is a reliable and important partner of Kazakhstan in South Asia and beyond, noting that the two nations are connected by centuries-old ties rooted in the heritage of the Great Silk Road, as well as deep cultural and spiritual closeness. He added that Kazakhstan and Pakistan share common values, traditions and a joint aspiration for the future.
It is recalled that on February 4 in Islamabad, Tokayev and Sharif signed a Joint Declaration on establishing a strategic partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
