More than 20 people evacuated from snowdrifts in Kostanay region
In Denisovsky district, near the village of Pereleski, on the KAZ19 Kostanay–Karabutak highway, specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations carried out emergency rescue operations to evacuate people and vehicles.
Several cars on the highway were unable to get out of the snowdrifts.
“By the efforts of rescuers and employees of one of the LLPs, seven passenger cars with 13 people inside were freed from a snowdrift and towed to a cleared section of the road,” the Emergency Situations Ministry said in a statement.
The evacuees did not require medical assistance.
Another eight people were evacuated in Zhitikarinsky district, 10 kilometres from the village of Muktukol.
Rescuers towed a passenger car with two people on board to a cleared section of the road.
In Karasusky district, five kilometres from the village of Suigensay, two passenger cars were caught in a snow trap. Rescuers evacuated six people, including one child. All of them were temporarily accommodated at a warming centre.
The rescued and evacuated citizens did not require medical assistance, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
