President Tokayev held a meeting with Ban Ki-moon in Seoul
Currently on a state visit to Seoul, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chairman of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), Ban Ki-moon.
The President of Kazakhstan noted the importance of the GGGI's activities aimed at supporting developing countries in their transition to a green growth model that ensures social stability, climate resilience, and economic development.
"For his part, Ban Ki-moon welcomed Kazakhstan's achievements in sustainable development and expressed readiness for further cooperation within the global climate agenda," the Akorda statement read.
The sides also exchanged views on UN reform and its adaptation to modern realities.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in the Republic of Korea for a state visit at the invitation of President Lee Jae-myung. On September 14, an award ceremony for South Korean state and public figures was held in Seoul. Welcoming the participants, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that the Kazakh and Korean peoples have long been linked by strong bonds of friendship.

On May 29, 2025, Ban Ki-moon attended the Astana International Forum in the Kazakh capital. Participating as Chairman of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), he took part in panel discussions focused on sustainable development and environmental issues.
