After suspending a lawmaker for working against Fayose, Ekiti state House of Assembly suspends another one for 101 days without pay

- Hon. Fajana Ojo-Ade, a lawmaker at the Ekiti state House of Assembly, has been suspended for 101 days without pay

- Amongst other charges, the lawmaker is accused of gross misconduct, financial impropriety and a failed attempt at removing the speaker

- The development comes after another lawmaker, Gbenga Aribisogan, was suspended for similar offences by the House

Hon. Fajana Ojo-Ade, the legislator representing Ekiti-East Constituency 1, in the Ekiti state House of Assembly, has been suspended by the House for 101 days without pay, Daily Trust reports.

During the suspension period, the the lawmaker is also barred from going within 1 kilometre radius of the Assembly complex 'except he shows signs of genuine remorse'.

According to Samuel Omotoso, Chairman, House Committee on Information, the development follows the outcome of the speaker’s disciplinary committee which was set up to investigate the erring lawmaker.

In a released statement, Omotoso further disclosed that in the last two weeks, Ojo-Ade appeared before the committee twice, in a bid to defend himself over allegations of gross misconduct, financial impropriety, failed attempt at removing the speaker, violence and physical attack on honorable members, and bringing the name of the House to serious disregard and disrepute.

This latest development comes after another lawmaker, Gboyega Aribisogan, was suspended for similar offences by the House.

After serving his suspension, Aribisogan was still not allowed to resume at the House.

He has since joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that the Ekiti state House of Assembly suspended Gboyega Aribisogan, a lawmaker representing Ikole 1, for 180 legislative days‎ for alleged anti-party activities.

Aribisogan, the Chairman, House Committee on Information in the assembly had been accused of ganging up with those opposed to Governor Ayodele Fayose within the‎ Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and beyond to derail his administration.
