Frustrations are intentionally designed by Jagex into Runescape to gate content
I wish they'd have polls and take a look at construction, but is is not likely to occur anytime soon. At this point, I'm pretty sure that Jagex intentionally designs frustrations into Runescape simply to gate articles. It goes all the way to the start, with that agility shortcut just south of Varrock which should have been an opening. I am aware of there are so many things and QOL changes which they can create to make buy RuneScape gold loop better, like if you"fix" a characteristic, you should not have to interact with it to go through it, it is already"fixed".
I'm pretty certain that frustrations are intentionally designed by Jagex into Runescape to gate content. This was definitely a key gameplay mechanism (as well as endless grinding) back when the Gowers first launched Runescape and through at least its first dozen years. Since then, they have steadily learned that gameplay on being a pita, based does not work for sustainability. I came back to Runescape before this year after a break. It has been impressive to see how much they've been performing to remove annoyance mechanics from Runescape as a whole. Having a 20 year history, it is obviously going to require more than a few years to improve it all, but their present dev team and management seem to be going in the right direction.
Hopefully, you're going to be seeing an increasing number of attempts to decrease the types of frustrations you're talking about later on. Well, this notion was initially something that the devs toyed around with no hint whatever happened with it probably got left on one of their shelves. Secondly, OSRS takes a ton of articles from RS3 and causes it to be better in OSRS, the elite slayer creatures were in RS3 and therefore are in OSRS and provide better xp and unique drops is just one I could think of off the top of my mind, I am sure anyone else can attest to the same. Not mad about it since it made OSRS better but it is irritating that they can take things from us and make then better and our devs do not see that and tweak what we've already got.
But I personally don't need to see structure, we won't get surveys. Instead, I'd want to find a complete rework of the PoH. Jagex have refused to touch the PoH codebase ever since the launch of construction, because the codebase is a mess. Proceed why Jagex keeps bringing up construction, and why few updates have been received by the skill since launch. There's been efforts to enhance the PoH, for example by allowing for hotspots to be transferred around, however this (TAP?) Never got early testing, from what I can tell. Imo, the skill is in serious need of a rework equivalent to that of M&S, at least concerning PoH mechanics. It's buggy, outdated, and most of the ability unlocks that effort to be useful have not been for the greater part of a decade.
Sounds interesting but I don't believe we need just a new action we need an whole reworking of the skill. I'm really a big fan of the idea of blending the city reworks with the building rework and the art being about fixing up the small and broken down cities of the world, expanding and improving their material. City building could be amazing. I really like Anachronia's base building, they ought to measure that up. I'd prefer this but I'm afraid of it consisting of the same,"set x works for y source, then wait for z days for it to max out". I'd really rather be earning funds or getting them in Runescape game via old school runescape gold, processing them through magic skills, and helping construct an economy back up.
