OpenTCS opensource modification - update plant kernel module(s)
Brief.
I'm looking for a person/team which would help us to implement modifications for an open source OpenTCS software (https://www.opentcs.org/en/index.html)
Currently this logistical software has a model of a "plant" implemented. We are looking to significantly update and extend this model to meet our requirements.
I'd welcome a midrange/senior java developer(s), perhaps with a touch of design experience in logistics and delivery planning serives to contact us to discuss the details of the project. The solution design is ongoing, so all the input and suggestions would be welcome and rewarded accordngly.
Workload and working mode.
The project is going to be executed in weekly sprints. Everybody work remotely using their own equipment and are free to organize their time as they see fit.
Expected workload for developer(s) is expected to be between 10 and 20 hours per week. I'd expect the project to be completed in 7 to 10 weeks. However, if you think I've over/underestimated the effort, please don't hesitate to contact us - we are open for adjustments.
Project toolset (cloud instances, software licenses, etc.) are going to be defined in the beginning of the project and paid by us.
We’d suggest having 3 fixed meetings per week (a planning meeting on Monday morning (1 hour), a catchup on Wednesday or Thursday (30 mins), and a handover of the sprint results in the end of the week (Friday – Sunday, 1 hour or less).
Source code and docs.
All the source code developed during the project should be reasonably documented and located in a predefined repository. The code and the docs are to be handed over weekly.
Reward.
We are offering weekly payments in the end of the working week once the weekly handover is done, and the results are accepted.
The weekly rate is between $500 and $1000. The precise amount will be defined on course of our communication. We are interested to get the best fit for the project and team and sign you up for further collaboration, so we are open to discuss the rate and offer an increase based on results.
Thank you for your time!
