Armenian president votes at constitutional referendum
Serzh Sargsyan, the first president of Armenia, has voted at the constitutional referendum, Novosti-Armenia reported.
The head of state went to the poll with his wife, Rita Sargsyan.
Refraining from comments, he just said he will speak after completion of the referendum.
The constitutional reform implies transition from the current half-presidential rule to the parliamentary model.
Polling stations opened in Armenia for the constitutional referendum today at 08:00. As many as 1,997 polling stations are open all over the country. The voting will be over at 20:00.
The voter list consists of 2,550,323 people. The amendments to the Constitution will be considered adopted if more than a half of the number of the people who have voted, but no less than one quarter of the number of the people in the list cast their votes in favor of it.
